Notice of AQED’s Special General Meeting and Annual General Meeting

AQED invites all its members to its Special General Meeting (SGM) and Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on June 11, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., via zoom.

In addition to being the decision-making body of its members, this meeting is an opportunity to learn about the association’s financial results, its achievements and projects planned for the coming year. The members present will have the opportunity to vote for open positions on AQED’s Board of Directors. This year, 3 positions will be up for election.

Prizes for the draw:

  • Two one-year memberships to AQED
    Two people will win the chance to see their AQED membership extended for an additional year, for free!
     
  • La 2e Class is offering one teacher evaluation (valued at $225)
    This prize is valid for either the current school year or the following year!
     
  • L’Acedémie Diderot is offering two $100 gift cards, applicable toward any of their tutoring services.
     
  • Succès Scolaire is offering a 5-hour online tutoring scholarship, free of charge for new registrations.
    A prize value of 240$ in tutoring (plus an additional 50$ for the registration fee if the winner is not already registered with them)
     
  • Two tickets to AQED’s Conference
    This year, AQED’s conference will be held on September 16, 2023. Several workshops will be presented that will appeal to families who are new to homeschooling as well as to more experienced families.

 

Would you like to get involved? What is it like to be a member on AQED’s Board of Directors? 

It can be intimidating to be on a board of directors. At AQED, though, it’s done in a convivial manner, taking into account each person’s schedule and circumstance. 

Sitting on the Association’s board of directors involves:
 

  • A monthly meeting of about 2 hours (with a break during the summer!)
  • One or two work days per year (in-person, if possible)
  • Being head of a committee at AQED. Involvement in the committee is up to you, but at the very least, we expect you to be able to relay decisions from the Board to the relevant volunteers and vice versa. 
  • Act as a spokesperson for AQED on social networks.
  • Spread the word about homeschooling!
