Recap of Our Meeting with the DEM – March 19, 2026

On March 19, we attended a 15-minute meeting with the DEM’s Executive Assistant and Strategic Advisor to discuss their most recent communication.
The communication focused on two topics:
  • The importance of ensuring that learning activities provide a level of academic progress comparable to what is expected for each cycle within the school system.
  • The requirement to list any person or organization contributing to the child’s learning within the learning plan.
Unfortunately, given the limited time allotted, we were only able to clarify the second point. If you are experiencing issues related to the first point, please share them with us so we can request a second meeting.
Here is the information we gathered:
  • This is a reminder of Section 5 of the regulations; there are no new changes.
  • The disclosure of individuals/organizations applies only to the five compulsory subjects.
  • You only need to mention what is foreseeable (e.g., specify the use of a tutoring service for an entire subject, but do not include one-time activities that are not yet scheduled).
  • Regarding the disclosure of a private individual’s contact information (such as a private tutor or a parent volunteering their expertise), we are awaiting a response from the DEM.
We highlighted the privacy concerns shared by many families and the concern that this requirement might discourage knowledge-sharing within the community.
In light of this, we suggest that families report only the organizations and professionals who have a significant impact on learning in the required subjects.
