Recruiting: Teacher evaluation assistance service

Blog Banner for Website Content (19)

Thank you for your interest in participating in our teacher evaluation assistance service for homeschooled children. This service provides a platform where parents wishing to use this type of assessment have access to a list of available teachers.

We are looking for teachers who have experienced homeschooling with their own children, and/or who are comfortable with different pedagogical approaches, including self-directed education (unschooling). Teachers must be familiar with the Québec Education Program (QEP) and be able to translate the student’s work into language that corresponds to the competencies of the program and certain elements of the Progression of Learning. You must hold a valid teaching certificate.

Follow this link for a document from the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM) document outlining the ministry’s expectations for assessments. Also, the Association québécoise pour l’éducation à domicile (AQED) offers you a template (reserved for its members and for those associated with our service) to help you with your evaluation. Please note that it is not mandatory to use this one. You are free to choose the template and the type of evaluation you feel is appropriate to meet the requirements of the DEM.

Remuneration:

Evaluation of 1 student – $80.00 (approximately 2 hours)

Each additional student (same family) – $60 (approximately 1.5 hour)

Evaluation meetings will begin in May.

In order to be part of our evaluation team, please send a brief resume along with an explanation of your evaluation process to: [email protected]. Please indicate whether you can provide evaluations in English, French or both languages.

Thank you again for your interest and we look forward to working with you.
