AQED supports the efforts of homeschooling families to create networks, community spaces and meetings in order to share and respond to the socialisation needs of their children.
With their francophone and anglophone Facebook groups, conferences and information sessions, collaborations with support groups and other activities, AQED is a platform that facilitates networking and support between families.
It allows Quebec families to share experiences, pedagogical resources, and other pertinent information, all of which makes it easier to achieve a positive homeschooling experience.
AQED is currently experimenting with a mentoring system between families who are experienced in homeschooling and who are available to help, listen and support families who are beginning and are facing all kinds of challenges.
The volunteer mentoring families:
If you would like support: Review the Facebook groups posts, choose an available family and contact them according to the posted terms and conditions.
AQED reminds you that the entire process is based on the benevolence and listening of each party with the goal of sharing and support. Participating families are volunteers who are offering their help and time on a personal basis. Their advice and suggestions are not legal opinions and AQED is not responsible for what is said during the mentoring sessions.
Support groups are made up of homeschooling families who have come together to support each other, share tips and advice, and to socialize.
Some are made up of only a few families and are rather informal, while others have hundreds of members, their own premises or are registered organizations.
Differently from support groups, which are in certain cities or regions, there are also lots of Facebook groups. These virtual communities unite around interests or common educational methods. Visit the Member area for a list of Facebook groups for homeschooling families.
